Limitations...

In an effort to improve my photos, I am trying not to make all of these images of food or flowers. Although I naturally gravitate to those I know I should focus on other types of inspirational things. It's tricky...

New Year, New 365...

As a the New Year came, so did my one resolution...to do things that are good for my soul! This includes becoming better acquainted with my camera, get an overload of animal cuteness by volunteering at my local animal shelter, and become more musical by learning to play the piano.

Although I have tried before (and successfully failed) I am going to attempt to COMPLETE a 365 project. My previous attempt had me taking pictures that revolved around specific themes each week, which became daunting (and not always feasible). So this time around I will take whatever works for me. I have made the decision to take my camera with me every day and try to catch all the mundane things I experience.

Not all of the pictures will be great, but this is a challenge to work on my technique and try and make every picture as amazing as possible!

Desert Beauty

Traveling to climates outside of mine is one of my favorite photography adventures. This is because I get to take myself out of my comfort zone and get images of plants (but sadly no animals this time) and landscapes that I would not usually have access to. At a family reunion (for Alan's family) we headed back to the desert. The desert was full of life and beauty. I got to adventure deep into it on a dirt bike, which I successfully rode for the first time!

Decrepit Buildings

I have this overwhelming urge to take pictures any time i see buildings in decay! Driving through rural areas I want to pull over and take pictures of barns and broken down sheds. Even run down vehicles peak my interest. At Emerald Cove, near Parker, in Arizona I was driving along and found some buildings, abandoned long ago. Obviously, I am not the only one who had interest in this building, but for very different reasons.

Although this old fire truck is in really good condition, I still loved it because it is a classic!

Not the best picture, but it does not cease to amaze me how beautiful the sky is when you can getaway from the light pollution.

Not sure what type of bug this is, but it was totally freaky, so I had to get in close :)

Reminds me the face of a troll doll!

As many of you may know I am currently in a clinical psychology graduate program working on getting a masters degree. With that said, blogging has been on my to-do list, but always manages to stay at the very bottom. I have continued to take pictures over the past (hmm, too many months!) So here are a few to show what I have been working on.

Didn't mean to be a creeper, but what is more exciting when you are young than a make out session?!?

Week 15 is titled "Excitement!" Although I am a few pictures short of a week I am going to post these for now. I may add to this week later, but I will decide that at another point in time.
