Desert Beauty

Traveling to climates outside of mine is one of my favorite photography adventures. This is because I get to take myself out of my comfort zone and get images of plants (but sadly no animals this time) and landscapes that I would not usually have access to. At a family reunion (for Alan's family) we headed back to the desert. The desert was full of life and beauty. I got to adventure deep into it on a dirt bike, which I successfully rode for the first time!

Decrepit Buildings

I have this overwhelming urge to take pictures any time i see buildings in decay! Driving through rural areas I want to pull over and take pictures of barns and broken down sheds. Even run down vehicles peak my interest. At Emerald Cove, near Parker, in Arizona I was driving along and found some buildings, abandoned long ago. Obviously, I am not the only one who had interest in this building, but for very different reasons.

Completely covered in graffiti

A trailer next to the abandoned building. Probably won't be taken camping anytime soon.

Another view
Although this old fire truck is in really good condition, I still loved it because it is a classic!

Not the best picture, but it does not cease to amaze me how beautiful the sky is when you can getaway from the light pollution.

Not sure what type of bug this is, but it was totally freaky, so I had to get in close :)

Better late than never...

The 'Blue' Moon

Wine tasting with my sisters

Reminds me the face of a troll doll!
As many of you may know I am currently in a clinical psychology graduate program working on getting a masters degree. With that said, blogging has been on my to-do list, but always manages to stay at the very bottom. I have continued to take pictures over the past (hmm, too many months!) So here are a few to show what I have been working on.

Exciment!-Week 15, 365 Project

Candy!!!

Super excited about the gunk he found in the stream!

Didn't mean to be a creeper, but what is more exciting when you are young than a make out session?!?
Week 15 is titled "Excitement!" Although I am a few pictures short of a week I am going to post these for now. I may add to this week later, but I will decide that at another point in time.

365 Continued? Week 14 'Reflections'

Last January I decided to start a 365 project. I delegated every week a theme to keep it "easier" and attempted to stick with taking the pictures and then updating my blog. However, between work, grad school and my internship I got a bit behind. These pictures are not new. They were taken last year for the week on "Reflections." Although I feel that I have progressed quite a bit with my photo skills I still want to give these images a chance to be seen. So here they are!

Another day, same model...

I am fortunate to have a beautiful family. With that said I would expect to see many pictures of my sister Kellen popping up on my blog. As state in previous posts I am eagerly making the transition from being a more static shooter to a more well-rounded shooter, which would include living breathing models. My sister is a very talented fashion blogger, see her style here, and is a very willing model. Enjoy!

Baby Showers...

Last year was the year of the wedding, but I believe that this year will be the year of the babies. The showers and festivities began this weekend with my Aunt's baby shower for Hunter. He is due in a few weeks and I can't wait to take his first few pictures!!!

Hannah, the soon to be cousin of Hunter, was singing for all of the guests. She covers her eyes while singing.

These were some AMAZING cake pops! Must say, the best I ever had!

Monkeys are the theme of Hunter's nursery.
